Property registrations in Johannesburg remain in a state of limbo as the city’s deeds office has been closed since last week, following the shutdown of elevators in the 32-storey building that houses its operations. The closure was initiated by the Department of Employment and Labour due to non-compliance issues concerning the elevators.
