water cut off due to non payment

I’m renting in a complex and the water was cut off allegedly due to non-payment. I’m not a member of the body corporate so I wasn’t informed about any potential cut off. Is there anything residents can do? We pay our water bills with our statements every month but I believe there’s a dispute between the body corporate and Joburg Water. I’m unsure if a court order was filed to cut the water.
